The Bhakti Shastri for Congregation course is a specially designed scriptural study program for devotees actively engaged in household life or professional responsibilities, who may not have access to full-time temple-based training. This course enables members of the ISKCON congregation to deepen their understanding of Gaudiya Vaishnava philosophy and apply it meaningfully in their day-to-day lives.

Course Purpose

This program follows the standard ISKCON Bhakti Shastri curriculum, with adjustments in pace and delivery to suit the schedules and needs of working devotees, parents, and householders. It empowers participants with scriptural grounding, personal inspiration, and spiritual tools to enhance their sādhanā (devotional practice) and service within the community.

Scriptures Covered

Participants study four foundational texts with the authorized commentaries of Śrīla Prabhupāda:

• Bhagavad-gītā As It Is – Krishna’s comprehensive teachings on duty, yoga, and devotion.
• Nectar of Instruction (Upadeśāmṛta) – Guidance on personal behavior, association, and advancing in bhakti.
• Nectar of Devotion (Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu, Part 1) – The science of devotional service, its nature, and development.
• Śrī Īśopaniṣad – An essential Upaniṣadic text that explores the personal aspect of the Absolute Truth.
